MARC ROZIER Brand Story


1. With the patronage of friends, Mr MARC ROZIER set up a factory which aimed to produce high-end and bright silk threads and brocades in 1885 and then started a legendary story that lasted for a century.
2. The brand MARC ROZIER was formally found in 1890.
3. French was badly hurt after the Franco-Prussian War at the end of the 19th century with its domestic economy being seriously damaged and heavy industry short of resources. That was a major trauma to the whole weaving industry in French, and MARC ROZIER was no exception. Mr MARC ROZIER was forced to close the factory and tossed about in this volatile situation. He kept on weaving secretly, studied the fabrics and acquired part-time job with the help of friends. Nonetheless, Mr MARC ROZIER never fell down for he was always looking for a way to start his career again.
4. In 1930, the size of the factory in Lyons was doubled and from then on the production in this factory formally stepped into a new stage of industrialization.
5. After the World War Two ended, the second-generation successor entered the family business and started to make a new plan about MARC ROZIER, namely to show the topic of every season as we as the design trend on small towels.
6. In 1980s, the forth-generation successor Didier and Eric took over the MARC ROZIER from their father Mr PROVENT and tried to open up a century domain.
7. In 2013, MARC ROZIER reached strategic cooperation with Wensli Group, starting to enter the Chinese market.


 

MARC ROZIER style


MARC ROZIER initially aimed to produce scarves with folk style or practical scarves. So the MARC ROZIER was firstly greeted by the working people: to design small red handkerchiefs for juveniles, to produce blue hand towels interspersed with white spots as we as yellow and red scarves with flower pattern for railroad workers, or to design cottony hand towels with Provence pattern for women who worked in the fields after the War. This history also laid a good social foundation for the latter development of MARC ROZIER from every aspect.
As time goes by, MARC ROZIER begins to show its unique view and design inspiration on silk scarves. Those inspirations usually come from the historical pattern archives of the last 120 years and together with the current fashion trends, art and natural style. Its main design is antiques, decorative arts, tapestries, geometric animals and flowers etc.

Eric Provent

Eric Provent, the forth-generation leader of MARC ROZIER. The first glace of him will make you think of the word “Prince”. Is it because of his looming, romantic and French smile, or the rare and attractive prince hairstyle exquisitely selected by him for reminding people all around the world? This visible but untouchable mysterious distance inspires you to explore the story behind a brand. Eric Provent travels around the world every year and hopes to capture inspiration elements “on the road ” by setting his mind at ease: French pattern, Nepalese fabrics, Indian color matching, Jiangnan design, Tibetan weaving technique and American spirit, so on and so forth. You may appreciate the distinctive characteristics of various nations through a small hand towel.


 

Quality of the Brand


TMARC ROZIER sticks to finishing the whole process in French including raw material, purchasing, designing, sample making, jacquard weaving, dyeing, production: the workshop for jacquard weaving is located in Yzeure; machine workshop Gillonay (MIG)is responsible for screen printing; the final edge processing and after finishing process are finished in the headquarter, LYON - VAISE. Those three production bases having a clear division of labors ensure the meticulous process of MARC ROZIER, making it the last two existing factories that can carry out jacquard weaving technique of superior difficulty. The fact that all scarves are coming from French endows them with unique charming. So they deserve to be collected as a work of art.
